We have been carefully monitoring developments pertaining to COVID-19, and at this point we feel that we cannot go forward with Blue Ridge Suzuki Camp as planned for June 21-26. However, we are very hopeful that camp will be able to be held Sunday, August 2 - Friday, August 7.
While we continue to move forward with planning for August, the nature of this unusual and fast changing situation is that there will continue to be a level of uncertainty as we wait and see how things develop. We will continue to monitor developments of the coronavirus and things that will inform our decisions -- including CDC and State recommendations and regulations, implementation of widespread testing and tracking, and trends in what other camps in August are doing. Of course the health and safety of our participants and faculty will be our top priority in making decisions. If it feels safe to hold camp in August, we will certainly implement some additional protective protocols.
Camp registration will now be extended until July 10th and there will be a more lenient cancellation policy this year. Please see the registration page for the details of the cancellation policy.
We are very grateful for our BRSC community, and know how much this camp means to our families and to our faculty. We know that it is difficult to continue with some uncertainty, but we hope you agree that it will be worth having a period of uncertainty if the situation improves and we are ultimately able to have camp. We very much look forward to the time that we can be together in Orkney Springs, whether it is in August or next year.
Wishing your family good health and joyful music making,
Katherine Wiley, Director
