Blue Ridge Suzuki Camp offers a concentrated week of music study and recreation for Suzuki students and their families in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley region. Now in our 26th year, the camp has developed a reputation for its outstanding faculty, supportive learning environment, and beautiful location. Most of our families and teachers return year after year- creating a strong community of students, parents, and teachers. Enrollment is open to violin, viola, cello and guitar students at all levels and ages, who have studied using the Suzuki approach. Students who are in the upper Suzuki books or beyond the Suzuki repertoire have the option of auditioning for our more focused Chamber Music Institute. Siblings and parents of Suzuki students may participate in camp classes through our many elective offerings, including fiddle, celtic cello, improvisation, and beginning guitar. In addition to daily music classes, students are given the opportunity to perform on a solo recital and participate in evening activities and recreation. Blue Ridge Suzuki Camp is held at Shrine Mont Camp and Conference Center, a beautiful and historic facility that includes a large outdoor pool, tennis courts, fishing pond, basketball court, miles of hiking and biking trails, and much open space to play and enjoy the outdoors. At Blue Ridge Suzuki Camp, students of all ages and levels are able to to further their skills and love of music in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Parents have the opportunity to learn, share ideas, and to enjoy special time with their children and other families. The week together provides motivation, learning, and enjoyment for all. |
